When it gets warmer, who doesn’t love getting together with friends to get some drinks outside in an overpriced bar à la Sex and The City?
So having cute-ish outfit pieces for summer is important for us girls to look and feel confident, and it works wonders for many occasions, such as an endless brunch, a beer garden hangout, or a rooftop cocktail party.
In this sense, I gathered some outfit pieces that would help or inspire you to use in these warm days. Here are 12 pieces that will help you decide what clothes to wear in those warm days:
Clothing
White Linen Midi Dress
The linen material in this dress allows for excellent airflow, and the midi length is flattering on a variety of body shapes, making it ideal for outdoor gatherings.
Also. this versatile piece can be paired casually with sandals and a denim jacket, or with boots, and can also be worn in a more formal event if you add some heels and jewelry.
Natural Linen Mini Dress
For a shorter alternative, the Holland linen shirring mini dress from Meshki offers a playful and charming option. Its natural linen hue is ideal for spring brunches and summer outings, while the shirring detail introduces texture and visual appeal.
This dress is perfect for showcasing your legs while keeping cool, and we love showing some legs!
Linen Blend Wide Leg Trousers + Strappy Tulle Top
This wide-leg design inspired by the Italian culture is flattering, and the linen blend material ensures you stay cool, which is a must in warm days. As for pairing, you can wear any top or shirt. I chose this strappy tulle top as a pair because they match so perfectly!
This combination of breezy trousers and a delicate top creates a balanced outfit that looks and feels really comfortable.
90s Straight Jeans + Linen Top
Straight-leg jeans are an essential addition to any wardrobe, and Reformation‘s Val 90s mid-rise straight jeans are perfect for literally anything, that’s why it’s here. It can be used in a warm or hot day, as well as in a cool day. In terms of pairing, anything (literally anything) would look great. I’m talking about a maxi shirt or even just a bra.
As for going out for drinks, I chose to pair them with a linen top like the Balia from Reformation, which has an amazing texture and design, that I ASSURE you will not piss you off in warm days.
Printed Blouse + Mini Skirt
I wish I could own every single piece Farm Rio has ever created, it would be heaven. This printed shirt is an example of a piece I would cry for. It comes with its own pair: the matching miniskirt, which has these vibrant colors that calls for summer.
The bold colors and playful print of the shirt is so Rio coded and it amazes me how Farm can capture the essence of a whole culture.
Tie Front Tank
A tie front tank, such as the Matilda Tie Tank from Free People, is a versatile wardrobe staple that can be styled for various occasions, and it would also match the linen pants from Bershka.
You can also pair it with denim shorts and sandals for a more laid-back look, or tuck it into a midi skirt and add heels, nevertheless, this top is the cutest and might work with anything.
Cream Mini Dress
A cream mini dress, such as the Adira Mini Dress from For Love & Lemons, offers a more youthful feminine option. A perfect sundress, actually!
The mini length is flattering, and the cream hue is ideal for spring and summer brunches. The fabric also seems really cool, which helps in warmer days.
High-Waisted Shorts
The fact the Zara has the best jeans is something everyone knows, so I couldn’t not choose one of their shorts, which are always my go-to pieces.
For a day of drinks, these High-Waisted shorts like these offer both a lot of comfort and also style. The minimalist effortless and chic vibe this one gives. Ugh.
Also, the unique openings add a touch of personality and interest any outfit, while the high waist enhances your midriff, which is a must.
Midi Skirt Satin or Midi Skirt with Embroidery
A midi skirt sits at the perfect spot – not too short and not too long. Right at the calves or a few inches below the knee, this length is universally flattering on all body types; and these are a perfect example.
First off, the satin skirt is endlessly versatile, it can be worn in so many contexts. But in a warm sunny day, if you pair it up with sandals, sunglasses, a cute top and some jewelry, it will be a perfect fit.
One of my favorite pieces from this post, the embroidered midi skirt, also from Zara, is such a statement piece. Even as simple as it is, feels like such a classic. It can also be worn with a simple top (and any color).
Accessories
Woven Crossbody Bag or Woven Tote
A practical woven bag like Zara’s Woven Crossbody Bag or the Sparkly Woven Tote Bag are very different from common bags, but they offer texture and a different style you can add to more simple outfits to give a bit of seasoning to your looks. I love these.
Squared or Rectangular Sunglasses
Sunglasses are obviously a must in a sunny day. They are a fun accessory to play with when choosing what goes best with an outfit.
These two, both from Zara, are so chic and can add a lot to a look.
Head Wrap or Scarf
Wearing a bright scarf or head wrap, like the Print Head Wrap or colorful Cotton Scarf from Zara, is a fun and easy way to stand out (in a good way!). I don’t see much of these nowadays, but I’m currently integrating them to my outings. My favorite is the blue scarf from Zara, how can it be so gorgeous?!
Final Thoughts
At last, these 12 pieces were my favorites when researching outfits. I had this idea in my mind of what I would definitely wear to go out in a sunny day, and I’m really happy I could find such amazing pieces! Also, remember to choose fabrics that are breathable and silhouettes that are flattering, and don’t forget to accessorize with sunglasses, bags, and shoes that complement your look.
Each piece is designed to keep you comfortable and cool, and not worry about your clothes making you hotter, allowing you to enjoy your time with friends without any wardrobe worries. Happy day drinking!
